Josh Schoonover, the founder and owner of JCustom Deck & Patio, has always had a passion for working with his hands and creating something lasting. His journey into the world of deck building and outdoor living spaces started long before he founded his company on November 15, 2006. Growing up, Josh worked alongside his father in the family’s irrigation business, learning the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication to quality service. When his older brother took over the family business, Josh saw an opportunity to carve out his own path, leading to the birth of JCustom Deck & Patio.

His love for the outdoors and hands-on work made the transition into deck building and landscaping a natural fit. Josh takes great pride in seeing a project come to life, transforming a simple backyard into a beautiful and functional outdoor space. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence have made JCustom Deck & Patio a trusted name in the industry.

Outside of work, Josh leads an active lifestyle and has a competitive spirit. He once competed in the ASA World Championships for aggressive skating, demonstrating the same determination and drive that he brings to his business. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He is also passionate about martial arts, practicing both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, as well as rock climbing.

With nearly two decades of experience, Josh continues to push the boundaries of custom outdoor design. He believes that every deck and patio should be a reflection of the homeowner’s vision, blending aesthetics with functionality. For Josh, every project is more than just construction—it’s about creating spaces where memories are made.
